Welcome to ‘I Crap on Your Photos’, a blog intended mainly to critique published, exhibited and even acclaimed images that in the humble opinion of the author — being me — are simply not up to Parr. By challenging the work of lazy photographers or the sanctity of inviolable artists, I hope to generate constructive discussion about the essence of ‘good’ photography.
All rights do of course remain with the image maker, which means that if you are the photographer being critiqued and take offence, I will obviously delete the relevant post upon request. With time, however, I hope that photographers will feel oddly honoured to find themselves abused here. On a good day, I do not rule out also including friendly words about images that I particularly admire.
About me: an idealistic photographer committed to the struggle against unwarranted glorification of distinctly average images. All of my own pictures are, naturally, outstanding!
